NBBIT Email Documentation

Setting up SMTP Authentication:

THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR NBBIT-HOSTED POP ACCOUNTS ONLY!
IF YOU ARE UNSURE - CONTACT YOUR IT ADMINISTRATOR
OR CALL OUR OFFICE AT 800-841-5849

Effective March 2010, all NBBIT email users should configure their local email client to use SMTP authentication. The benefits of SMTP authentication include reducing email abuse, protecting the transfer of email messages, and addressing the concerns of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who filter or disallow unauthenticated SMTP traffic.

While this is an easy process, if you would prefer to have me make these changes, free of any charge, please contact me immediately, and we will be happy to setup a day/time to remote into your computer(s) and update these settings.    (Contact scott@nbbit.com  or  call 573.635.3893)

If you’d like to make these changes yourself, we have provided instructions below.
